I do my best to maintain my macro counts. However, there are days where I am really busy and am not able to buy/prepare food, so I eat what i have around or what's most convenient at the moment. I like to workout in the afternoons when I have had a few meals. That way, I have more energy to kill it in the gym. My question is, is there really much of a difference as far as what you eat for your carb source. Obviously, complex carbs like broccoli or brown rice would be better because it is more nutrient dense. However, sometimes I just go straight for oatmeal, grits or cereal because I just have it around. I do make sure that they are very low in sugar/sodium. Will it have much of an impact on my muscle development if I do that too often? How much of a difference would it make if someone were to eat only oatmeal and grits vs. eating brown rice an veggies for carb source.
